What do you like most about working for Shade Power?

The team! We here at Shade Power have built up a great collaborative environment, where every voice is truly heard and valued. Each of us brings a unique skill set and perspective to the table, so we get to bounce ideas off of each other and come up with creative solutions to continually improve how we work together as a team.

What is your favorite part of building a solar pergola or carport?

For me, my favorite part of the building process is cutting our lumber into the parts we use to assemble the main structure. It’s one of the many steps in which we really get to let our craftsmanship show, and takes equal parts spatial awareness, mental math, concentration, and manual dexterity to produce a quality end result.

When you aren’t building solar pergolas and carports, what do you most like to do?

Outside of work, my newly-discovered passion is running. I’ve found it to be a great outlet to stay in shape while gyms are closed, and a fun way to keep in touch with friends via virtual running challenges. It’s also really easy to keep things interesting by alternating between sprints and long-distance, roads and trails, etc.

When I’m not out running, you can find me playing games with friends, plucking away at my bass guitar, or just lounging around with a good book, movie, or podcast.

What is your favorite part of building a solar pergola or carport?

My favorite part of building a solar pergola is constructing the frame. A lot of hard work goes into making plans, setting up the footings, and preparing lumber, so putting the pieces together and seeing our work take shape from the ground up is really rewarding.

When you aren’t building solar pergolas and carports, what do you most like to do?

My favorite things to do are sing and dance and play guitar with my friends and family! Music has always been a large part of my life and I love to share it with people. I also like reading books, watching movies and television, and playing soccer.
